Christopher Peter Meloni is an American actor, popular for his role in the well-known television series 'Law & Order Special Victims Unit. He discovered his love for acting in his early days at college and studied acting at the University of Colorado at Boulder. The characters he has played on television have gained him a lot of attention. He is able to play two characters, one from the perspective of the police as well as the other. This is what has made him so popular. He played the character of the serial killer on the first TV show he appeared in and later played the role of an NYPD detective. Numerous times, he was nominated for the prestigious Emmy Awards, and the PRISM Awards.
